Kimberbell Embroidery Projects

This class is for anyone working on Kimberbell Embroidery projects.  You can work on ANY Kimberbell project you want and get assistance from Myrt with any questions.  It might be a quilt, bench pillow, mug rugs, wallhangings or ask for suggestions.  Kimberbell has a wide range of levels for machine embroidery each with a variety of techniques.  They are always coming out with new projects.  And they are SO fun to do!

Fun, Easy Quilting Projects with Myrt

Wednesdays, July 5, 12, 19 & 26                         Time:  1:00 – 4:00

Let’s do some EASY quilting projects just for the fun of getting together and sewing!  This class is open to ALL adult levels.  We will select the projects from quick, easy patterns – nothing overwhelming!  Fabrics are each individual’s choice.

Intermediate Software

In each session, new lessons will be taught straight from Bernina using Bernina Software Version 9.  We will explore new techniques and functions.

Demo Daze

Tuesday, July 25                                                            Time:  1:00 – 3:00
Demo Daze is upping its game.  Beginning in January we will be featuring fun, creative and new project ideas that you are sure to want to try.  There will be more What’s New at Bernina, maybe new ideas for the Foot of the Month and an occasional game just for fun. Can’t wait to see you all!

AUGUST

 

Quilt As-You-Go

Tuesdays, August 1 & 15                                                Time:  12:00 – 4:00

In this class, you will learn to make projects without putting the entire thing through your sewing machine to quilt it.  This class meets every other Tuesday afternoon; you will make a project of your selection (or Terry will make suggestions for projects if wanted).  Each block will be pieced, then sandwiched with batting and quilted. It is fun to quilt and practice when it is only on a single block! There are several techniques, including sashing, to join the blocks.  You can use these techniques with any quilt block, traditional to modern. You need basic piecing and quilting knowledge to join this class. Come, have fun and learn something new!

Bondi Top by Sew to Grow – Simple Garment Class

Wednesdays, August 2, 9, 16 & 23 (4-session class)         Time:  6:00 – 8:45

Have you ever wanted to make a simple top that you could wear in so many ways? Could be worn with jeans, pants or tucked in a skirt.  Also, the Bondi Top could be made longer and it becomes a comfortable dress.  Darla will help you to select your fabric and be successful at this!  Come Wednesday nights in August and be creative!  Patterns available at our store.

Switchback Bag

This by Annie bag is not only cute but super versatile!  Filled with pockets, this bag can be worn as a cross-body, over the shoulder, or as a backpack.  It has a recessed zipper to keep everything secure.

This class is for beginners in the truest sense of the word.  Everything will be included from fabric selection, rotary cutting, piecing, quilting and binding!  When you finish you will have a nice wall hanging or table top size quilt.  And you will be ready to make a quilt on your own!

Catching Up With Terry

Monthly Open Machine Embroidery
Saturday, August 26                                                       Time:  10:00 – 4:00
Come join others who also enjoy machine embroidery.  This is for ALL levels of machine embroiderists! Bring your own embroidery project and work on it at your own pace – with some staff help available if needed. Finish up previous projects or start something new.  Maybe you are new to machine embroidery and just need a little encouragement.  Machines are available.

National Dog Day Make & Take
Saturday, August 26                                                       Time:  1:00 – 4:00
Come embroider a bandana for your favorite four legged friend. You don’t need to bring anything – In store you’ll pick out a blank pet kerchief that snaps around their existing collar, thread color, & font for their name and we’ll start the machine stitching! We’ll be hanging out talking about dogs from 1-4 or until supplies run out. Also a great personalized gift idea for those that prefer their dog over people!

Let’s Quilt

Tuesday, August 29                                                        Time:  1:00 – 3:00

Join me to learn or enhance your free motion and ruler work quilting skills.  I will have my samples, books and handouts of new designs to view and choose from.  I will demo new ideas and new products for quilting.  We can share ideas on how to quilt your quilt so no more stress in the decision making.  We will photo your project and draw the designs before you add even one stitch.  Bring your quilts, projects or fat quarter quilt sandwiches, your sewing machine or use one of ours, thread, 90/14 top stitch needles, free motion and ruler feet and any rulers you may already have.  Let’s get together and quilt – Last Tuesday of every month!

Katahdin Tote

Fridays, September 1 & 8 (2-session class)                      Time:  11:00 – 4:00

This super-cute bag, designed by Aunties Two, is made with 2 ½” strips (maybe that jelly roll you loved).  It is medium sized and has 4 interior pockets.  The pattern includes two metal stays to support the bag.  A zippered top and handles makes this an every-day accessory.

Beginning Quilting (EVENING!!)
Wednesdays, September 6, 13, 20 & 27                           Time:  6:00 – 9:00
This class is for beginners in the truest sense of the word.  It will include rotary cutting, piecing, a little applique, quilting and binding!  When you finish you will have a fun table runner and you will be ready to make a quilt on your own!  You will be using the Teach Me to Make My First Quilt book by Pat Sloan.  Also, students who just finished this beginning quilting class, you may join this class to begin your second project.

One Sister/Buggy Barn Class

Thursdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28 & October 5              Time:  1:30 – 5:00

(5-session class)

In this class, Darla will help you complete a One Sister or Buggy Barn pattern.  You may select your own pattern; it should be a piecing pattern – not applique.  If you haven’t experienced these patterns, they are kind of a crazy piecing process (but fun)!  She will also discuss and help you select fabric for your project.  If you have already started one of these projects and need help completing, you need to discuss it with Darla before the class.

A New Take on a Tuffet

Fridays, September 15 & 22 (2-session class)                   Time:  11:00 – 4:00

These are the tuffets designed by Aunties Two Patterns which uses the firm foam inserts.  They come in two sizes (18”x15” and 14”x12”) and use jelly rolls, Bali Pops (or cut your own 2½ strips) or even a single quilted fabric. They are so cute, make a great footstool, and a delightful addition to any room!

Class Cancellation and Refund Policy:  Please sign up early to reserve your place in class.  Classes must be paid for before our cancellation deadline (three days before class starts). You may cancel and receive a full refund up to three days before class.  After the three day limit you will receive store credit.  If a class is cancelled by us you may have your class fee refunded or receive store credit.  If class enrollment does not meet the minimum requirement, it may be cancelled.
